La Maison Degand offers fancy socks from the French craft brand Berthe Aux Grands Pieds. Berthe is a queen, but not just any queen! Historically, Bertrade nicknamed "Berthe Au Grand Pied" was none other than the mother of Charlemagne and the wife of Pepin Le Bref. History reports that she had one foot larger than the other. From the beginning of the creation of Berthe Aux Grands Pieds, Régis Gautreau, the founder, wanted an exclusively French manufacture. After several production attempts in partnership with various factories in France, he chose La Manufacture Perrin SA, which became Berthe Aux Grands Pieds' historical partner.
